Punisher will return right after season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again

A “special” episode to watch on Disney Plus between Daredevil and Spider-Man.

He made a resounding return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 last year. But Jon Bernthal is conspicuous by his absence in season 2 which has just started.

No Punisher… Fortunately, the actor will reprise the role of Frank Castle for the Marvel Special Presentation Punisher: One Last Kill, scheduled for May 12, 2026. That is, one week after the broadcast of the finale of season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney + (it will be May 5). Enough to suggest that it will be a direct sequel.

Remember that Jon Bernthal played Frank Castle from season 2 of the Netflix series Daredevil in 2016. Facing Charlie Cox, he confronted then allied himself with the blind vigilante. A former soldier crushed by revenge after the massacre of his family, Castle made such an impact on fans that he got his own spin-off Punisher, broadcast from 2017 to 2019 for two seasons. Then in Daredevil: Born Again, Bernthal reunited with Cox and allied himself with him against the corrupt mayor of New York, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), aka the Kingpin.

And that’s not all: on the heels of Punisher: One Last Kill, Frank Castle will also make an appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day alongside Tom Holland, along with other familiar faces from the MCU like Mark Ruffalo as Hulk. He even already appeared in the trailer opposite the weaver (see below):
