Matt Reeves reveals first image of The Batman 2 Batmobile

Equipped with winter tires…

The Dark Knight’s wheels go into winter mode.

Matt Reeves this week revealed what looks like the first-ever official look at the production of The Batman: Part II. On X, the filmmaker shared a photo accompanied by the caption “#SnowTires“, showing the Batmobile in full camera test. It is still difficult to know exactly what the image reveals, but visibly, Robert Pattinson will still pilot the same tinkered and ultra-muscular machine seen in the first part of 2022: a Dodge Charger transformed into a Batmobile, with a more raw and mechanical aesthetic than the futuristic versions seen in the previous films.

Robert Pattinson will obviously take over the role of Bruce Wayne, surrounded by Colin Farrell in the skin of Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Barry Keoghan is also expected to return as the Joker. The sequel will also welcome several prestigious new faces. Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson joins the cast in the role of Gilda Dent, the wife of prosecutor Harvey Dent. Sebastian Stan has also joined Reeves’ Gotham and will play Harvey Dent. Finally, the former of Game of Thrones Charles Dance also joins the cast and is set to play Charles Dent, Harvey’s father.

The first film was a solid success at the global box office with 772 million dollars in revenue for a budget estimated between 185 and 200 million.

The production of The Batman Part II has just started. The release of the film is currently scheduled for October 1, 2027 in theaters.
