Jackpot for the three actresses: the crazy salaries of The Devil Wears Prada 2

Already a huge worldwide success, the sequel to the cult film would have allowed Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt to win XXL fees… and nice bonuses.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 has earned big since its theatrical release. Already more than 300 million dollars at the worldwide box office for the sequel, whose budget of 100 million would have mainly served, according to director David Frankel, to bring together the stars of the historic cast.

According to exclusive information from Variety, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt have all pocketed impressive fees to reprise their cult roles twenty years after the first film.

Back in the shoes of the ruthless Miranda Priestly, Meryl Streep would have first negotiated a salary of 12.5 million dollars to return. A substantial sum, even if the Oscar-winning actress could probably have asked for more, specifies the American site, which explains at the same time that the star of the 3 Oscars in fact wanted to ensure that her partners could benefit from the same emoluments. The three actresses would therefore have signed a so-called “favored nations” agreement, a widespread Hollywood clause, guaranteeing the main stars to obtain the same salary conditions and benefits as their headlining colleague. Result: Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt would also have received 12.5 million dollars each to find Andrea Sachs and Emily Charlton.

And that’s not all: in addition to their XXL salaries, the three actresses of Prada 2 negotiated significant box office related bonuses. These bonuses have already started to fall thanks to the success of the sequel in theaters around the world.

Still according to Variety, each could ultimately pocket more than 20 million dollars if the phenomenon continues… A nice jackpot!

Representatives of the actresses have not commented on this information.
