According to information from Lucasfilm, the studio offered Anthony Daniels a small surprise appearance in The Mandalorian & Grogu. This time, no golden suit or endless protocols: Anthony Daniels simply lends his voice to an air traffic control droid. A tiny role, almost invisible, but sufficient to prolong this historical wink. Daniels thus remains the only actor in the entire history of Star Wars to have participated in all the cinema films of the saga produced by Lucasfilm.
From A new hope in 1977, the British actor became inseparable from C-3PO, the famous protocol droid created by George Lucas. He played him in the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy and the final trilogy. That’s almost fifty years spent in the galaxy far, far away. We also heard it in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Warsbut also in Disney+ series Ahsoka or even Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Daniels has had fun increasing the number of hidden appearances in the franchise. In A new hopehe already played another droid seen briefly in the streets of Mos Eisley. In Attack of the Clones And Revenge of the Sithhe also played a Coruscant crook posing as a representative of the Republic.
