Ridley Scott doesn’t believe in Quentin Tarantino retiring: ‘Shut up and go make another movie’

The director of Gladiator 2 himself has no desire to stop making films.

In a long interview given to Hollywood ReporterRidley Scott goes behind the scenes of Gladiator 2 (the film is also on the cover of Première, where the director tells us everything about this crazy adventure) and looks back on part of his career. The discussion notably focused on the fact that Ridley Scott is constantly touring and that he doesn’t see himself stopping any time soon. “ Clint Eastwood is fucking 92 years old! I’m 86, so I still have time », assures the filmmaker, always a little curt with the press.

And the journalist asks him what he thinks of Quentin Tarantino’s announcement, who assures that he will retire from cinema after his tenth film (which will not be The Movie Criticreleased a few months ago). “ I don’t believe this bullshit. Shut up and go make another movie. Quentin wrote some stuff for my brother (the scenario of True Romance and rewrites on USS Alabama). They got along well. I’m not sure I’ve ever met him. »

Gladiator 2 will be released in cinemas in France on November 13 and will be “a totally brutal film“, according to Ridley Scott:
