Tom Cruise will reunite with the director of Edge of Tomorrow
But not to make Edge of Tomorrow 2. It should be his first horror film.
More than ten years after the release ofEdge of Tomorrow in the cinema, rumors around a sequel have never stopped. But obviously, Edge of Tomorrow 2 will never happen. However, Tom Cruise should work again soon with the director Doug Liman. But on a completely different project.
It will indeed be a horror film, as Liman confirmed on the sidelines of a screening in Hollywood a few days ago (via Showbiz 411). He confirms that he and the star have plans to make a film ” scary ” together. Without saying too much, he just smiles:
“I’ve never made a horror film before. And neither has Tom Cruise!”
According to recent leaks in the American press, Warner Bros. Discovery would be interested in this project known as Deeper (an obviously very temporary title), which would be based on an initial screenplay written by Max Landis years ago. Several stars have been attached to the film at one time or another, such as Idris Elba, Bradley Cooper and Gal Gadot. And so it is Tom Cruise which should ultimately do so, even if we don’t know anything about the story yet. This would be the third collaboration between the actor and Doug Limanwho had already successfully reteamed for Barry Seal: American Traffic in 2017.
