Discover the new Nellie Oleson from Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie
Willa Dunn will take over the cult role played by Alison Arngrim.
Will she be so mean?
Young actress Willa Dunn will play Nellie Oleson, the famous blonde pest from Little House on the Prairie.
An iconic role made cult in the original series by Alison Arngrim between 1974 and 1983.
Still little known to the general public, Willa Dunn has already appeared in the series Only Murders in the Building and Poker Face.

The platform describes this new version of Nellie as “a world-class spoiled princess and playground bully.” But the character, rival of Laura Ingalls, should also retain the complexity that gave her charm in the original series.
“Intelligent, extremely confident, sharp-tongued but easily hurt, Nellie lives to make Laura Ingalls miserable. But behind her mean girl attitude also hides tenderness and a deep desire for sincere friendship, even if she doesn’t really know how to get it,” Netflix says.
In this new adaptation, Alice Halsey will play Laura Ingalls, the role formerly played by Melissa Gilbert.
The cast will also include Luke Bracey as Charles Ingalls, Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline, and Skywalker Hughes as Mary, Laura’s older sister.
And the announcement has already received the blessing of the original interpreter of Nellie. On social networks, Alison Arngrim reacted with humor and theatricality, faithful to her cult character:
“Today, another has been chosen. Bow down to the one we call Willa! Like the one before her, she has emerged from the depths of Gotham to wear the crown of curls. I’ve been told she’s a sweet little girl and will be perfect in the role.”
The new Little House on the Prairie will be available on July 9 on Netflix. Season 2 has already been ordered.
