Jason Statham returns this summer in an action thriller by Jean-François Richet, the director of Mesrine. An explosive closed session aboard a container ship full of mercenaries protecting human cargo… A project designed for raw action, where the British actor plays a man alone against everyone in the middle of the ocean.

In MutinyStatham plays “Cole Reed, a former special forces agent turned security chief, is wrongly accused of the murder of his boss. Following the thread of the plot of which he is the victim, he finds himself trapped aboard a container ship whose crew is made up of mercenaries. On the high seas, Reed will not be able to count on any help…

A closed setting, maximum tension, and a hero forced to fight alone against an army of enemies: all the ingredients of action cinema are there, as evidenced by the trailer which has just been posted online.

It will be recalled that Richet had recently directed another action film in the English language, Maydayworn by Gerard Butler (2023). He will return to France at the end of the year on Netflix with Quasimodo, an adaptation of Victor Hugo carried by Vincent Cassel.

Waiting for, Mutiny will be released in cinemas in France on August 19.
