This time, the Owens sisters must face a terrible curse that threatens to wipe out their family once and for all. Warner Bros. just unveiled a brand new trailer for its sequel The Bewitchers 2which reveals the tricks of the scenario justifying the return of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman behind the cauldron.

Directed by Susanne Bier, this sequel “returns to a universe bathed in lunar malice and powerful ancestral magic, where the Owens sisters must confront a dark curse that threatens to implode their family, in a cinematic event mixing fun, magic and chaos.”

In this new opus, Sally now has adult daughters who are starting their own lives, while Gilly leads a peaceful existence, accompanied by her black cat. But the tranquility is short-lived: a mysterious character played by Lee Pace takes the two sisters out of their small New England town on a mission as strange as it is spectacular.

The screenplay is by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett, adapted from the novel The Book of Magic (2021) by Alice Hoffman, fourth part of the literary saga Practical Magic.

The Bewitchers 2 will be released in theaters on September 9 in France. Watch the trailer below:
