Michael B. Jordan becomes Thomas Crown in the remake’s first trailer
After Creed III, he returns behind the camera while playing the leading role in this 2026 version of the glamorous heist thriller.
After having proven himself as a director with Creed IIIMichael B. Jordan signs his second directorial effort with this remake of The Thomas Crown Affairthe first trailer of which has just been revealed by Amazon and MGM. The actor plays the famous billionaire art thief, a man as brilliant as he is elusive.
The story follows Thomas Crown, who manages to steal a very valuable painting by taking advantage of another heist to divert the attention of the police. His exploit quickly attracts the suspicions of an investigator specializing in insurance, played by Adria Arjona. A psychological duel begins between them where seduction will end up taking up as much space as stalking.
Facing them, Kenneth Branagh will play the great antagonist of the film, owner of the work that Thomas Crown intends to appropriate.
The casting also includes Lily Gladstone, revealed by Killers of the Flower MoonDanai Gurira (The Walking Dead, Black Panther) and Taylor Russell.
Written by Drew Pearce (Hotel Artemis) and Wes Tooke, based on a story imagined by Alan Trustman, screenwriter of the original 1968 film, this new Thomas Crown intends to modernize the classic without denying its elegance. For the record, Norman Jewison’s first film brought together Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, before a first remake with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo met with great success in 1999.
The Thomas Crown Affair will be released in French theaters on March 3, 2027.
