The Gentlemen season 2: Eddie and Susie think even bigger in the trailer

The Gentlemen: season 3 is officially ordered on Netflix

After a second season full of twists and turns, Eddie Horniman will continue his rise in the world of crime. Guy Ritchie is already ready to push the limits of his universe.

Eddie Horniman is not the type to wait for permission. Netflix has therefore just confirmed the return of The Gentlemen for a season 3, still under the leadership of Guy Ritchie.

“The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded and the consequences have become heavier. A third season seemed inevitable and I can’t wait to push the boundaries of this universe even further,” announces the creator and director of the series on the official Netflix website.

Warning spoilers for season 2!

In season 2, Theo James was no longer the reluctant Duke who was just learning the rules of the criminal underworld. Eddie now sought to expand his empire, notably by establishing himself in Italy and launching himself into parliamentary politics. A strategy which damaged his relationships with Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone) and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) and above all cost him dearly.

Eddie, however, once again finished on top. But the final image of the season leaves a much more worrying question: how far is he capable of going now?

“I hope the question is more: ‘What is he capable of now?’ explains lead writer and executive producer Matthew Read. “Has he gone crazy or is he becoming this leader, this ruthless leader capable of extraordinary things?” Theo James also asks the question:

“How much of himself does Eddie lose as he seeks revenge on everyone who has wronged him?”

And we will also have to watch the Eddie-Susie duo. The two characters seem to have regained their complicity at the end of season 2, but Susie now knows that she can no longer take their association for granted.

“At the very end, she understands that she can no longer stay under her father’s name, that she must stand on her own two feet and that she can no longer count on Eddie as a partner,” explains Kaya Scodelario.

In other words, season 3 of The Gentlemen will start on particularly unstable ground. Eddie won, but he might have lost a part of himself in the process. And in Guy Ritchie’s world, business is just beginning.

All eight episodes of season 2 of The Gentlemen are available on Netflix. Season 3 does not yet have a date.
