Trailer: The Diplomat returns for season 4 on Netflix

In this fourth season, two couples threaten to annihilate each other…

A few days after Allison Janney’s victory at the Emmy Awards (for Best Supporting Actress), Netflix announces the return of its Diplomat.

The President of America, Grace Penn, will soon reunite with Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell and Bradley Whitford for a fourth season which promises to increase the tension even more.

As the new trailer reveals, during this season 4, “two couples threaten to annihilate each other. It only takes one catastrophic moment to shatter the fragile peace that Kate Wyler had negotiated between the United States and the United Kingdom… as well as the failing marriage that she is trying to save.”

The synopsis states: “While she struggles to control the damage, President Grace Penn and Vice President Hal Wyler plot to steal Russia’s most powerful weapon, pushing the United States toward war. A decidedly mismatched duo, Kate and Todd join forces despite everything to prevent Grace and her ally Hal from shifting the balance of power, both domestically and internationally.”

Created by showrunner and executive producer Debora Cahn, season 4 of The Diplomat will be available October 15 on Netflix.
