After SonicNetflix continues to draw from Sega’s catalog.

The two companies have just announced a new agreement covering several video game adaptations, with Crazy Taxi on the front line. The famous racing game released in arcades in 1999 will become a live-action film, written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, the screenwriters of Is there a cop to save the world?THE reboot of Naked Gun released in 2025.

On production, we find Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher and Toru Nakahara, already behind the adaptations of Sonic at the cinema. No actors or directors have yet been announced and no release date is currently known.

The principle of Crazy Taxi should in any case lend itself quite easily to a crazy comedy. In the original game, the player gets behind the wheel of a taxi and must transport his customers as quickly as possible through a chaotic city, dodging traffic, taking ramps and performing stunts to collect as many tips as possible. All against a backdrop of punk-rock, which has become one of the signatures of the franchise.

While waiting to discover this feature film adaptation, a new opus of the video game, Crazy Taxi: World Tourwill be released on consoles in 2027.
