A sacred actor at the 2026 Emmys will be in the cast of GTA 6!
A few days after winning his first Emmy for Widow’s Bay, Stephen Root confirms that he will lend his voice to one of the characters in GTA 6.
It’s official: Stephen Root will be in the cast of Grand Theft Auto 6.
The American actor has just confirmed to the Associated Press that he is lending his voice to one of the characters in the Rockstar Games video game, expected on November 19.
“Yes, you’ll see me in there,” the actor simply replied when asked if he was participating in GTA 6.
Stephen Root will play Brian Heder, billed by Rockstar as “a classic drug dealer from the golden age of smuggling in the Leonida Keys.” This fictional region of the game is directly inspired by the Florida Keys. Brian continues to smuggle his goods from his shipyard, with the help of his third wife, Lori, while now letting others get their hands dirty for him.
And if Rockstar kept Stephen Root’s participation secret for a long time, the actor thinks that the most attentive fans had already understood.
“From the first GTA 6 content that they released, maybe almost a year ago, my character was already there. And too many people knew me from King of the Hill and my voice… I think the secret was out at that point.”
The timing is particularly amusing: Stephen Root just won his first Emmy Award on Monday night for his supporting role in Widow’s Bay on Apple TV. At 74, he became the oldest actor to win this award in the category.
