Nothing to give a damn on France.TV: Adèle Exarchopoulos in existential crisis (critic)

Through the journey of a low-cost airline stewardess, Emmanuel Marre and Julie Lecoustre paint the portrait of a generation stuck in a perpetual present.

On the occasion of the release of Garance, where she plays an alcoholic actress, another notable role of Adèle Exarchopoulos can be streamed for free on the France Télévisions website. Noted at Critics’ Week in 2021, Rien à foutre is also the first feature film by Emmanuel Marre (co-directed with Julie Lecoustre), who has since returned solo with Notre salut, rewarded with the screenplay prize at the last Cannes Film Festival. Cassandre, 26, a flight attendant in a low-cost airline, lives day to day to the rhythm of flights, stopovers, forced smiles at passengers, drunken nightclubs and one-night Tinder dates. A daily life without a past and without a future, a perpetual flight forward which resembles general anesthesia. Nothing to give a damnSO. Very beautiful film title – which also works well in English: Zero Fucks Given – for this first feature by Julie Lecoustre and Emmanuel Marre.
