A very promising trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
The new Game of Thrones series promises to be a heroic tale full of humor and adventure, far from the political affairs of King’s Landing.

HBO has just revealed the very first trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, its new Game of Thrones series, which will follow the adventures of Duncan the Great across the 7 kingdoms, and his friendship with a strange little boy who will become his squire, Egg. A medieval tale with a much more heroic tone than previous productions within Westeros, judging by this first trailer full of wit and bravery (see below).
A trailer revealed last night, during New York Comic Con.
Synopsis: “A century before the events of “Game of Thrones”, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a naive but courageous young knight, Ser Duncan the Great, and his little squire, Egg. In a time when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet faded from collective memory, great destinies, powerful enemies and Dangerous adventures await these unlikely and incomparable friends.”
In the casting, Peter Claffey, former Irish professional rugby player, who played in Connacht until 2018, finds himself in the shoes of Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Great. Young Dexter Sol Ansell – seen in the Hunger Games prequel – will be little Egg, Daniel Ings will play the role of Ser Lyonel Baratheon, Bertie Carvel in the role of Baelor Targaryen, Danny Webb in the role of Ser Arlan of Pennytree, Sam Spruell in the role of Maekar Targaryen, Shaun Thomas in the role of Raymun Fossoway, Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen, Edward Ashley as Ser Steffon Fossoway, Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle, Henry Ashton as Daeron Targaryen, Youssef Kerkour as Steely Pate, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Plummer and Daniel Monks as Ser Manfred Dondarrion.
The series, made up of 6 30-minute episodes. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms launches on January 18.
