A year after imagining the American Civil War with Civil Warthe director Alex Garland brings out the guns, but this time abroad. He wrote and directed with Ray Mendozaveteran of the war in Iraq, a breathtaking new film, which plunges us into the heart of the conflict in the Middle East, as evidenced by the impressive trailer that A24 has just put online (below).

The film follows a platoon of Navy SEALs on a mission in the middle of insurgent territory. The story takes place in real time and tells how the soldiers will be spotted and targeted. Impossible for them to get out. They must survive while waiting for air support and their exfiltration…

The Canadian actor Reservation Dogs D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai will take over the role of Mendoza, who recounts his experience in the field here. William PoulterKit Connor, Michael Gandolfini, Adain Bradley, Noah Centineo, Joseph Quinn and Charles Melton complete the cast.

Produced by studio A24, Warfare will be released in cinemas in 2025.
