Noah Wyle is the sexiest man alive in 2026

The former ER doctor, now the star of The Pitt, succeeds Jonathan Bailey on the People magazine list. A new recognition after her double at the Emmy Awards.

Before him, other famous television doctors had been crowned, such as Patrick Dempsey, from Grey’s Anatomy, in 2023.

Noah Wyle has officially been voted Sexiest Man Alive 2026 by People magazine. He succeeds Jonathan Bailey, the star of Wicked, who received the title in 2025, becoming the first openly gay man to be so rewarded.

Since 1994, Noah Wyle has been making hearts beat in a white coat. Revealed in Emergencies, the actor returned to the corridors of a hospital with The Pitt, which allowed him to win two consecutive Emmy Awards for best actor in a drama series, in 2025 and 2026. Questioned by People after the announcement of his new title, the actor admitted to having difficulty believing it: “I thought it was a joke. Never, ever, would I have imagined that such an honor could be given to me Granted, I hope that changes everything. I hope that from now on it will only be wine and roses, milk and honey!” he joked, before adding that he would especially have to endure the mockery of his friends and family.

The public discovered Noah Wyle in the skin of John Carter, medical student turned doctor in Emergency, alongside George Clooney who was crowned Sexiest Man Alive during these years in Chicago, in 1997 (then a second time in 2006). Last January, Clooney joked about the possibility of creating a special issue of People dedicated to the sexiest man alive: “I would name Noah Wyle first. When I grow up, I want to be Noah Wyle!”

Sixteen years after the end of ER, in 2009, Wyle returned to hospital services with The Pitt, in which he plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, an emergency doctor faced with the daily pressure of the emergency room. Season 3 of The Pitt is expected in January 2027.
