Berlinale 2026: the entire official selection
The competition promises to be dense and resolutely international, under the presidency of the jury entrusted to Wim Wenders.
After the coronation of Dreams (Sex Love) by Norwegian filmmaker Dag Johan Haugerud, winner of the Golden Bear in 2025, the Berlinale 2026 intends to confirm his taste for art-house cinema open to the international market. Afghan director Shahrbanoo Sadat will have the honor of opening the festival with No Good Menprojected out of competition. 22 films will then be competing in official competition, under the watchful eye of Wim Wenders who succeeds Todd Haynes as president of the jury. Among the selected works, we find a first feature film, an animated film and a documentary. The selection brings together productions from 28 countries, with 20 world premieres. Nine films were directed or co-directed by women, and fourteen filmmakers had already been invited to Berlin, including six in competition.
