The Italian filmmaker is already back behind the camera with After the Hunt, a psychological thriller whose first images suggest the worst.
Only a few months after the release of Queer with Daniel Craigthe prolific Luca Guadagnino does not lose a minute to reveal the first images of his New psychological thrillertitled After the Hunt. For the occasion, the Italian filmmaker brings together a prestigious cast carried by Julia Roberts (first role in the cinema since Ticket to Paradise),, Andrew Garfield (You won’t kill) And AYO EDEBIRI (The Bear). No release date in France has been disclosed at the moment.
While the official synopsis is in a sentence (“A university professor sees a dark secret of his past ready to be revealed), The trailer brings some clarifications on the plot. Whether it is the electric atmosphere, the revelations that are linked or this feeling of discomfort that does not leave the screen: all the ingredients seem to be united so that Guadagnino makes his audience shiver once again.
This psychological thriller follows the character of Julia Roberts, professor at university, when she learns that a student, played by Ayo Edebiri, accuses one of her loved ones, Andrew Garfield, of having “Cross the line”. The first images are not enough to identify the nature of the facts but it is likely that the #MeToo movement occupies a place of choice in this new story.
Few doubts also on the fact, once again, Guadagnino takes pleasure in tickling his audience to make him think through sometimes disturbing scenarios as in Bones & All or more recently Challengers.
