Netflix will have 325 million subscribers in 2026

Boosted by Stranger Things 5, the platform continues to grow and has “an audience that is approaching one billion people worldwide”.

While Netflix announced strengthening its $83 billion deal to buy Warner Bros. studios. Discovery and the HBO Max streaming activity, the group wanted to share its good health!

Netflix still has more customers and ensures that it had more than 325 million subscribers worldwide at the end of 2025, compared to 301.2 million a year earlier. That’s an increase of 8% in one year, while the platform aims to continue to grow with the acquisition of Warner Bros.

It must be said that during the fourth quarter of 2025, Netflix recorded record traffic thanks to the last season of Stranger Things. An X factor which allowed the streamer to boost its fleet.

The company thus exceeded financial expectations in the fourth quarter of 2025. Netflix announced quarterly revenue of $12.05 billion (up 17.6%) and net profit of $2.41 billion (up 29.4%) while Wall Street analysts were instead expecting $11.97 billion in revenue, according to LSEG Data & Analytics.

Netflix has stopped reporting its subscriber figures quarterly, but specifies that they will be published when certain key thresholds are reached.

“With more than 325 million paid subscriptions, we now serve an audience that approaches one billion people worldwide,” the group said in its fourth-quarter letter to shareholders (via Variety). In the second half of 2025, Netflix users collectively watched 96 billion hours of content on the platform, up 2% year-on-year (compared to +1% in the first half). This increase is driven by Netflix original programs, consumption of which increased by 9% year-on-year in the second half of 2025. Netflix also revealed its advertising revenues for the first time. In 2025, the third year of advertising commercialization, these revenues exceeded $1.5 billion, more than 2.5 times the 2024 level.

In 2026, the company expects content depreciation to grow by around 10%, meaning its content spending would reach around $20 billion for the year (up from around $18 billion last year).

Finally, for 2026, Netflix forecasts revenue of between $50.7 and $51.7 billion, which would represent growth of 12 to 14% year-on-year….
