Six series in one month: the Ryan Murphy factory is in full swing in Hollywood

While the story of the Menendez brothers is still hot, the producer presents his “Doctor Odyssey”, his short stories “American Horror Stories”, his “Grotesquerie” and many others.

Prolific if ever there was one! Since the start of the school year, Ryan Murphy has already released 6 series (including 4 new ones) on American TV. American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez debuted on September 17 on the FX channel (soon on Disney + in France). Then it’s season 2 of Monsterdedicated to Menendez brotherswhich hit the headlines on Netflix on September 19. A few days later, on September 23, season 5 of 9-1-1: Lone Star was launched on Fox. Then, the creator unveiled his sinister thriller on September 25 Grotesquerie on FX (on Disney + in France) then released on ABC, on September 26, its medical series Doctor Odyssey followed immediately by season 8 of 9-1-1.

“Six series in one month is a lot, it’s true”confesses Ryan Murphy at Variety. “But everyone in my company worked very, very hard, and miraculously, all of these shows worked. They all debuted at number one in the ratings and individually, they’re all doing very, very well.”

Every time, Ryan Murphy is a producer. Almost every time (except American Sports Story) he is also credited as creator. Ryan Murphy also writes some of the scripts himself (he co-wrote all the scripts for Doctor Odysseyall those of Grotesqueriethe first of Menendez brothers), even if he now manages 9-1-1 And 9-1-1: Lone Star remotely (he hasn’t written since season 1). Sometimes, Ryan Murphy is also a director (he directed episode 2 of Grotesquerie).

It wasn’t really planned for everything to come out at the same time like this… It’s both linked to the writers’ strike and my new partnership contract with Disney (which owns FX and Hulu in particular).”

And it’s not over yet. His company Ryan Murphy Productions has just revealed the official trailer for season 4 ofAmerican Horror Storieshis other horror anthology, which he will put online, for Halloween, 5 new episodes from Tuesday October 15 on Hulu (in France on Disney +).

And then? Ryan Murphy hasn’t finished playing yet American Horror Storyhis long-running series. He already has a season 13 in his sights, which will notably bring back Sarah Paulson And Evan Peters to the casting.

At the same time, he prepares The Beauty (for FX) and All’s Fair (for Hulu), which he begins directing this week, with Glenn CloseKim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson and Nash. “It’s my version of a legal series, which I’ve never really done before! They are lawyers specializing in divorces, so every week, we talk about a divorce of the week. It’s very intense, very glamorous, very ambitious.”

As for The Beautythe series was written for Evan Peters And Jeremy Pope. “It’s a sci-fi medical series about a new mutating, sexually transmitted virus that transforms you into your absolute perfect self. The question is: how far would you go to be beautiful?”

All this will be seen in 2025, with also season 3 of Monstercarried by Charlie Hunnam who will be the serial killer Ed Gein. The factory Ryan Murphy is not about to be technically unemployed.
