Big problem at Marvel: all new Disney Plus series are postponed
From Daredevil to Echo via Ironheart or Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, Disney Plus is reviewing its agenda.
The MCU schedule is completely turned upside down by the screenwriters’ strike which drags on in Hollywood. After the postponements of future films in phases 5 and 6, it is the Marvel series which are postponed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter – which cites a studio source – the series Echo (derived from Hawkeye), Agatha Harkness (derived from WandaVision), Ironheart or Wonder Man are delayed by several months. In question, the strike of writers and actors currently underway and which paralyzes the industry, but also the desire of the studio managers to take a step back from the content of Disney +.
In detail, Kathryn Hahn was supposed to return to the Marvel Universe at the end of the year (around Halloween), but Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (new title) is postponed for a year and will finally be released in fall 2024 on Disney Plus.
Echo was to be released on November 29. But the series dedicated to Native American heroine Maya Lopez will not be broadcast until next January.
In addition, Daredevil: Born Again (initially planned for spring 2024), Ironheart (fall 2024) and Wonder Man have all been removed from the calendar. They will see the light of day, but the new dates remain to be determined. The animated series X-Men ‘97 was also postponed from this fall to early 2024.
There will still be Marvel series to watch by the end of 2023: Loki Season 2 keeps its release date on October 6, while season 2 of the animated anthology What If…? will be online for Christmas.
