Call of Duty soon in film! Paramount sign a deal with Activision

Call of Duty movie will be written by Taylor Sheridan

The creator of Yellowstone and screenwriter of Sicario will bring the famous video game to the screen. Peter Berg will direct.

It’s a project that smells like gunpowder. A huge headshot in sight for the box office!

Paramount and Activision have just confirmed the news: Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg will write the screenplay for the live adaptation of Call of Duty. Berg, to whom we owe Friday Night Lightswill also ensure the implementation.

This project, which will excite millions of players around the world, comes as Sheridan, creator of Yellowstone, Tulsa King or even Landmanis preparing its transfer to NBCUniversal scheduled for 2029. In the meantime, Paramount and Skydance intend to exploit its pronounced taste for war stories, battered heroes and muscular thrillers. Because before his series, Taylor Sheridan is also the screenwriter of The Powerful Sicario And Wind River.

For his part, Peter Berg is a director accustomed to action scenes. We owe him The Kingdom (2007), Hancock (2008) or even Battleship (2012). Suffice to say that between the two men, the staging of military chaos is second nature.

The universe Call of Dutyowned by Activision (now under the Microsoft flag), has released more than thirty games since its creation in 2003. The contract signed with Paramount currently concerns a single feature film, but already includes an option to develop a real extended universe on the big and small screen.

No information has filtered out on the scenario, but we can expect a nervous dive into modern war, between raw realism and sacrificial heroism – right on target for the Sheridan-Berg duo. Paramount, which has already transformed Sonic in a multi-million dollar franchise, hopes to make the legendary FPS a new pillar of its Hollywood arsenal.
