Isabelle Huppert and François Ozon get off to a good start at the French box office
The richest woman in the world is having fun with The Stranger.
Who from Isabelle Huppert, Orelsan, François Ozon or The Rock had the best start this Wednesday in France?
The richest woman in the world takes first place among the new releases of the week this Wednesday, with more than 60,000 entries (AVP included) on 416 copies. An elegant score for the new film by Thierry Klifa, which replays the Bettancourt affair with Isabelle Huppert and Laurent Laffite.
Just behind, François Ozon achieves a very good launch for The Strangerwhich is approaching 55,000 spectators (including AVP) in 308 theaters. Albert Camus’ adaptation thus offers the best Wednesday average, with 109 entries per copy. It is a start higher than When autumn comes (in 2024) but a little below My Crime (in 2023), which already totaled more than 80,000 spectators and finished above a million.
On the third step, the American melodrama Regretting Youadapted from the eponymous book, peaks at 32,000 entries (without AVP).
The beginnings are more complicated for Orelsan, with his Japanese film Yoroi, which recorded only 22,000 entries this Wednesday, boosted by the AVP to reach 42,000 spectators. The average per copy is a little low (61 spectators per screening).
Finally, Smashing Machine closes the top 5 with less than 10,000 entries. A very small launch for Dwayne Johnson, who is content with 27 entries per copy.
