Death Stranding becomes an animated film: First Teaser
Hideo Kojima adapts his post-apo universe to a feature film that promises to be breathtaking.
We plunge back into the sumptuous universe of Death Stranding.
Kojima Productions unveiled the first teaser of his first adapted film of the famous video game by Hideo Kojima. Three months after the release of the magnificent Death Stranding 2: On the Beach On PS5, this is the animated film entitled Death Stranding Mosquito.
The video introduces a mysterious muscular man carrying a sprawling black mask. We see him first swimming underwater, seeming to reach out to another unknown person, before a scene showed him in intense combat in the rain in front of a carrier equipped with a transport costume. A first intriguing preview of what this film is hosting.
The animation was entrusted to ABC Animation Studio, under the direction of Hiroshi Miyamoto and on a scenario of Aaron Guzikowski. The story should remain anchored in the post-apocalyptic universe of the original game. For the moment, no release date or voice cast have been communicated.
At the same time, Kojima Productions also develops a film Death Stranding Live-action with A24, directed by Michael Sarnoski (A quiet place: day one), produced by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen, expected for 2027.
