DEXTER: When is season 2 resurrection?
The rest has not yet been officially ordered, but it is already under construction.
Three years after Dexter: New Blood, Michael C. Hall took over the scalpel in Dexter: Resurrection. A new season that ends this evening on Canal + in France.
So when is season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection?
This first season had been shot between January and June 2025 in New York, and broadcast in stride in the United States. But the rest will take a little more time.
For the moment, Showtime has not formalized in season 2. But the project already seems on the rails: as early as August, a Writers’ Room (bringing together authors to write scripts) was opened to prepare the rest, despite the absence of official green light. And as Dexter: the origins were canceled this summer, the channel managers clearly said they preferred to focus on resurrection. In short, it is difficult to imagine that Dexter Morgan hangs up his latex gloves so early.
What will happen in season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection?
Attention spoilers!
Season 1 concluded with Dexter eliminating Prater, the billionaire psychopath, before getting his hands on his precious collection of files on other serial killers. We left him on a boat, throwing his body in the port of New York, before whispering in his inner monologue: “I am exactly the one I have to be. Exactly the one you want me to be.” The way is all traced: Dexter should track down these new monsters, starting with the Rapunzel Killer (played by Eric Stonestreet), left in the Midwest before Dexter can add it to his collection of blood strips.
Another track: the return of Joey Quinn (Desmond Harrington). Already seen in season 1, notably via a voice message in the final, the former Miami Metro cop may well land in New York to understand what happened to his colleague Batista. Detectives Claudette Wallace (Kadia Saraf) and Melvin Oliva (Dominic Fumusa) should also gravitate around Dexter … And who knows how to end up collaborating with him rather than suspecting him.
On the casting side, a question remains: will we see Uma Thurman again? His character, Charley, concluded his narrative bow by taking his mother away from New York. A return therefore seems unlikely, but it is in any case possible …
