Jack Ryan will return to the cinema… but with John Krasinsky in the title role

A sixth film around the character of Tom Clancy, which could well be a pure and simple sequel to the Prime Video series.

He will succeed Chris Pine. A decade after the release of The Ryan Initiative by Kenneth Branagh (2014) the CIA analyst will make his return to the cinema. Amazon MGM Studios is developing a new feature film Jack Ryan. A sixth film very different from the previous ones (those with Harrison Ford in particular) since the franchise derived from Tom Clancy will transpose John Krasinski from the small to the big screen. In fact, the former of The Office had already been playing the role for several years in a serial version which started the whole story from scratch. Four seasons have already been broadcast and the show Jack Ryan ranks in the Top 3 of the most viewed series in the world on the platform!

Wendell Piercewho plays CIA agent James Greer in the series, will also star in the film, while Michael Kellywho plays Mike November, station chief in Caracas, is in negotiations to reprise his role as well.

Which therefore raises the question: will it be necessary to have seen all 30 episodes of the series? Jack Ryan to go see the new film in theaters? Will the story be a direct sequel?

First element of response: Andrew Bernsteinwho served as executive producer and director of season 2, will direct the film from a screenplay written by Aaron Rabinwriter of season 4.

For the moment no release date announced.
