Ewan McGregor swears he will return as Obi-Wan Kenobi: “I'm not yet the age of Alec Guinness, we have time…”
Lucasfilm has not planned a season 2 for its Star Wars series, but for the actor, this does not mean the end of his incarnation of the Jedi on screen.
Ewan McGregor is in full promotion of A Gentleman in Moscow, which at the end of March on Paramount+. Near LADiblethe 52-year-old actor revealed that according to him, his adventure with Obi-Wan Kenobi was not over.
Last spring, Lucasfilm clearly announced that his series Star Wars would not have season 2but for the star, that doesn't mean that he won't be able to come back in a future film or why not in another show on Disney+?
“The truth is, I must have lied about that first season ofObi-Wan for years, he explains. I don't want to do this anymore. So in all honesty, I don't know. I haven't seen a film from Lucasfilm or Disney to tell me: 'Let's go ahead and shoot a new season.' Alec Guinness was actually 62 when he signed for the first Star Wars. Ewan McGregor will celebrate his 53rd birthday this weekend.
His message is clear: McGregor has not officially signed for a season 2 ofObi-Wan Kenobibut he would love to play this key character in the saga again Star Wars in the more or less near future. SO “wait and see”as the saying goes.
