After his trawler breaks down, Stan must get back on track – a business selling household appliances is available to him.
Stan is an old-fashioned sailor, gruff and not very talkative, he has found himself on the brink since his trawler broke down. Like an Albatross, Stan is much more comfortable at sea and struggles to get his bearings on dry land. His two gendarme sons and his wife Françoise are used to dealing with the grumpy air of the patriarch. The couple embarked on a trafficking in household appliances based on resale. Things got worse when Bahman, 10 years old, was found in one of the packages of merchandise…
“The emblem of the film is this trawler immobilized in a garden like Stan who has lost his freedom to go fishing. This boat is placed there like a sculpture and in this sculpture there is, as often, a history, in this case the heroic past of the father during the Second World War, which Stan will try to equal in his own way by ways very diverted“, has explained Philippe Pollet-Villard in the press kit.
Philippe Pollet-Villard (Oscar & César for best short film for The Mozart of Pickpockets) brings together the cast of his feature film Patrick Timsit, Valérie Bonneton And Melanie Doutey in a fiction which nevertheless resembles a news item.
“I really like news items. These stories, what they tell. You can imagine the funniest story, you will always end up realizing that someone lived it, and that it was recounted in a news item,” explained the filmmaker.
Fallen from the Truck will be delivered on February 28, 2024 in cinemas.
