First photos from the set of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in live action
Only one of the seven is a short man.
Following the success of The little Mermaid and its $500 million worldwide box office, Disney is preparing the live-action version of Snow White. The heroine of the studio’s very first feature film will be played by Rachel Zegler in this new version, 86 years later.
The first photos from the shoot have leaked online (via the Daily Mail). We see Snow White, strolling in a field. Behind her follow seven people, who, according to the Daily Mail, are referred to as “fantastic beings” rather than “dwarfs”. Thus the film should rethink the 1937 animated classic. Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs could become Snow White and the 7 fantastic beings Or Snow White and the 7 companions.

We can see in these photos the looks of the companions in question, dressed in various eccentric outfits. Among them, we can distinguish a single person of short stature, alias Martin klebbaseen in Pirates of the Caribbean. He will play Grumpy. The Daily Mail also reports that two extra extras have been used, so it’s still unclear who will play which character in the film upon arrival. It is not Rachel Zegler that we see on the set, but a double.
These shots sparked a lively controversy in the United States, where the conservative media denounced the “wokism” of this adaptation. Questioned by The IndependentDisney issued a press release to clarify that the images relayed by the Daily Mail “were not official photos. They show stand-ins for some talent and don’t include Rachel Zegler or Andrew Burnap.“.
let’s remember that Gal Gadot will be the evil queen. Directed and produced by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, this new version of Snow White will expand on the story and music of the original, with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul writing new songs. Release scheduled for March 20, 2024 at the cinema.
