A cigarette in your mouth. A blue background. An imposing shadow. Here is Madderthe new heroine imagined by Jeanne Herry, who will be at the Cannes Film Festival for the first time, in the competition for the 2026 edition and who today unveils this first official image.
The director of Pupil And I will always see your faces finds Adèle Exarchopoulos, who will therefore play Garance, “a young alcoholic actress. Eight years of a journey made up of moves, work, meetings, parties and anxieties, joys and hard blows… But also an intimate, friendly and sexual revolution, a chaos resembling a “great playtime” where as much love as destruction mixes.”
Also with Sara Giraudeau in the cast, Madder is produced by Hugo Sélignac and Alain Attal. The theatrical release date has not yet been announced.
