Glen Powell Talks About Upcoming Running Man Remake Filming

“I’m so excited. It’s going to be crazy.”

New adaptation of the novel by Stephen King by Edgar Wright, The Running Man will begin filming in the fall, the star confirms. Glen Powellin an interview with IndieWire:

“The funny thing is, I was searching for ‘Edgar Wright’ in my email the other day. I wanted to find some back-and-forth on the script that we had done and I found a wish list of directors that I wanted to work with from 2008 that I had sent to my agent back when I moved to L.A. And Edgar Wright was literally number one on my list. I’m such a big fan of Edgar Wright. And so the fact that I get to work with him right now is so cool.”

Glen Powell then explains that the world of Running Man developped by Edgar Wright for this remake “is incredibly fun. It’s just outrageous. It’s so good. And really, we’re both huge fans of Stephen King’s book. This character is amazing. I’m so excited. It’s going to be crazy.”

And Glen Powell is so invested that he made “a little last minute plea“to his director, to assure him that he will give his all:”To let him know that when we get down to business, I’ll be at the full service of the work. I take this work very seriously, but I’m also just a fan, and there’s no way I’m going to disappoint my hero.“.

The story originally takes place in 2019 and we imagine that the remake will take place later. Michael Bacall writing the script right now.

The remake of Running Man does not have a release date yet.
