Here are the successors to Mulder and Scully for the X-Files remake!

Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler will be Ryan Coogler’s investigators.

It’s a promising project that excites as much as it worries early fans: X-Files will return in a new form. Under the leadership of Ryan Coogler, the Oscar-winning director and screenwriter of Sinners, a unique duo will follow in the footsteps of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

According to Variety, Himesh Patel lands one of the main roles in the pilot ordered by the Hulu platform. He will notably respond to Danielle Deadwyler.

A priori it will not be a simple copy and paste. The official pitch sets the tone: “Two highly decorated but radically opposed FBI agents will have to team up when they are assigned to a long-abandoned division specializing in unexplained phenomena.

According to the first information, the characters played by Deadwyler and Patel will be completely original and not new versions of Mulder and Scully, but a new generation ready to face the inexplicable. This is not the first time that Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler have crossed paths: they already shared the poster for the mini-series Station Eleven.

At the helm of this ambitious reboot: Ryan Coogler, who will write, direct and produce the pilot. Alongside him, Jennifer Yale will serve as showrunner.

If this reboot marks a first complete rereading of The X-Files, the series is not in its first comeback. After its initial end in 2001, it was previously resurrected in 2016 and 2018 with Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny reprising their cult roles.
