Jenna Ortega fascinated by The Weeknd in Hurry Up Tomorrow: trailer
An experimental film, backed by the American singer’s last album.
On January 31, The Weeknd released his sixth studio album entitled HURRY UP TOMORROW marking the conclusion of a musical trilogy started with After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022). In parallel, under his real name Abel Tesfayethe artist co -wrote a film, a psychological thriller of the same name, HURRY UP TOMORROWin which he stages himself alongside Jenna Ortegathe star of Wednesday and Barry Keoghanthe actor of Saltburn.
The film follows a musician plagued by insomnia who is trained in an odyssey with an unknown, interpreted by Ortega, who begins to shake the very heart of his existence. The recently revealed trailer presents a series of mysterious and chaotic events with which the characters are confronted.
This project also marks a significant step for The Weekndwho suggested that HURRY UP TOMORROW could be his latest album under the pseudonym of The Weekndindicating a possible transition to the use of its birth name, Abel Tesfayefor his future works.
The film HURRY UP TOMORROWdirected by Trey Edward Shultsintegrates several songs from the eponymous album, offering an immersive experience which merges music and cinematographic narration. We should find a deep exploration of the themes of celebrity, identity and interior fights.
The film will be released in the United States on May 16, 2025. It will be distributed by Lionsgate. No date in France yet.
