On the poster of his new film, we find in particular Camille Cottin, Kelly Reilly, Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Dornan.
A few weeks before the release of Mystery in Venice, 20th Century Fox has just unveiled a short video teasing Hercule Poirot’s next investigation. This is Agatha Christie’s third novel. Kenneth Branagh adapts to the cinema, and again, it is he who will slip into the skin of the detective.
“The crime of the Orient Express spoke of revenge, Death on the Nile was about greed. This film is about what’s after death, ghost or god, and whether Poirot believes in it or not. Like us, he is afraid”he explains in the featurette published on Monday.
Above all, the director discusses the shooting conditions of this new opus: “the actors didn’t know what was going to happen with the lights, the wind, the doors opening”he says. “I had never known a shooting like that. There was a real authenticity, it promises thrills for the public”tease in turn Jamie Dornan (Belfast), who acts in the film.
In the casting, we also find Camille Cottin, Kelly Reilly And Michelle YeohOscar winner for Everything Everywhere All At Once last March. Tina Fey (Lolita in spite of me) also explains that the film “is not just a criminal story. There’s also a supernatural element to the film that puts it on another level.” she assures. Indeed, the trailer unveiled in July takes on the appearance of a horror film, largely provided with screamers and ghostly presences.
Mystery in Venice will be released next September 13. Also on display are Kyle Allenappeared in the West Side Story of Steven Spielberg, the young Jude Hill who plays the main role Belfast, Emma Laird (The crowned room) And Riccardo Scamarcio (John Wick 2).
