Kong, Godzilla and a Super Titan in the Monarch 2 trailer

“It takes a monster to destroy another monster!”

We remember that they teamed up in the last film released in theaters, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, to bring down the enormous primate nicknamed the Skar King.

Obviously, Godzilla and Kong will once again side on the same side, to defeat another giant Titan, named Titan X. A gigantic and tentacled monster from the depths of the oceans, which is already revealed in the first trailer for season 2 of Monarch, the Apple series derived from MonsterVerse…

We understand from the video that Kurt Russell is going to take a team to Skull Island to bring King Kong back with them to fight this deadly creature.

According to the official synopsis, this season 2 picks up with “the fate of Monarch — and the world — at stake.” The plot promises to stir up “buried secrets that bring our heroes (and villainous characters) together on King Kong’s Skull Island, and in a mysterious new village where a mythical titan rises from the sea. The past has repercussions on the present, and blurs the bonds uniting family, friends and enemies, all against a backdrop of the threat of a titanic event.”

On the casting side, the series finds its headliners: Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell, as well as Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett and Anders Holm. Among the new guests for season 2, Apple TV+ announces Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper and Camilo Jiménez Varón.

Season 2 of Monarch will have 10 more episodes. It will begin on February 27 worldwide, with a classic mode launch: a first episode, then a new episode every Friday until May 1.
