Kristen Stewart pauses her acting career to direct her first film
His first feature film is particularly close to his heart. Here are the details.
A few years ago, the actress Kristen Stewart had announced his desire to go behind the camera to produce an adaptation of The Chronology of Water, the autobiography of the writer Lidia Yuknavitch. Unfortunately for the actress, her celebrity is not an accelerator for obtaining financing, even if she is among its producers Ridley Scott and his society.
The 33-year-old star therefore made a radical decision which she announced in an interview for Variety : “I will make this film before working for anyone else.”

However, she recognizes that to achieve this goal, she will have to face many obstacles, which makes this project “almost impossible”. “The current climate is a real ‘NO’ in capital letters for all projects that have not yet proven themselves”, she explains. She specifies that she would also like to translate the author’s unique writing into images: “I think there is a whole feminine language yet to be written”, she says about her future production.

She also admits to having desires for achievement that appear to be difficult to sell: “There is a certain physicality in the films I would like to make, which I think will be (…) not attractive to ‘buyers’.
