Lily Gladstone at Charlie Kaufman for a great sci-fi film
After Killers of the Flower Moon, she will star in The Memory Police, adaptation of Yoko Ogawa’s science fiction novel (1994).
Freshly crowned at the Golden Globes, while waiting for the Oscars, Lily Gladstone keep riding the wave Killers of the Flower Moon. The actress, who has already signed on to play Mildred Bailey in a biopic dedicated to the Native American jazz singer, will next star in an adaptation of The Memory Policewritten by Charlie Kaufmanthe famous screenwriter, to whom we owe in particular In the Skin of John Malkovich (1999) and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004). Kaufman will write the screenplay based on the 1994 science fiction novel written by Yoko Ogawa. It is Reed Morano who will direct the film. Martin Scorsesewhich exploded Lily Gladstone last year thanks to Killers of the Flower Moon, will be executive producer.
The Memory Police takes place on “an unnamed island off an unnamed coast, where objects disappear: first hats, then ribbons, birds, roses – until things get much more serious. Most of the island’s inhabitants are oblivious to these changes, while the few with the power to recall lost items live in fear of the draconian Memory Police, who are committed to ensuring that what is lost has disappeared remains forgotten.”
