Mel Gibson will shoot this summer the continuation of the passion of Christ
The director will put his cameras to the Roman studios of Cinecittà.
It is the boss of Cinecittà, Manuela Cacciamani, who announces it in the Italian press (via Variety)) : Mel Gibson will turn the rest of The passion of Christ (which will be a priori entitled The resurrection of Christ) in Roman studios. The shots will start this summer and will mainly take place in studio 22, a new Cinecittà decor which extend on several hectares. Gibson should also put his cameras in Matera, like the latest James Bond to date, Dying can wait.
Released in 2004, the biblical blockbuster The passion of Christ had become the most profitable independent film of all time, with $ 612 million harvested at the box office. Jim Caviezel should resume the role of Jesus in the following, just like Maia Morgenstern (Marie) and Francesco de Vito (the apostle Peter).
Lately, Gibson explained that the film would be ” A psychedelic trip “And that it would not be” Not a linear story (…) You have to juxtapose the central event that I try to tell with everything that surrounds it in the future, in the past and even elsewhere, and it becomes a bit of science fiction ». He also added this: ” I think that to really tell the story properly, it really takes by the fall of the angels, which means that you are in another place, in another kingdom. You have to go to hell. »»
