Millie Bobby Brown ready to change registry with a Coppola?

The 21 -year -old seems ready to start her moult towards more serious roles (but still on Netflix).

Millie Bobby Brown is no longer a child.

While she will leave behind Stranger Things at the end of the year, the British actress continues her moult towards adult and more demanding roles. Now aged 21, married, and mother of an adopted little girl, she engages in her most serious role to date.

It will always be for Netflix, but for the director who goes up: Gia Coppola. At 38, the little girl of Francis Ford Coppola and Niece of Sofia Coppola has already signed three feature films including Palo Alto and The Last Showgirl, who had met a nice buzz last year. Netflix would be on the way to concluding an agreement to produce Perfect, the filmmaker’s new film, which would therefore be worn by Millie Bobby Brown in the main role.

What will perfect?

The feature film will trace the true story of Kerri Strug, American gymnast member of the 1996 Olympic team, nicknamed The Magnifiment Seven. His heroic performance has remained engraved in memories: despite an injured ankle, Strug succeeds in a perfection jump, won gold and ends the competition carried in the arms of his coach.

Millie Bobby Brown would thus put aside the SF and the fantasy, she we saw in Enola Holmes, in the young lady and the dragon or in The Electric State.

Obviously, Perfect represents the opportunity to camp for the first time a real historical figure, a role anchored in reality which could propel it towards a critical recognition which is slow to arrive. Like Margot Robbie with I, Tonya (in 2017).

Perfect’s shooting is expected to start next spring. When Millie Bobby Brown has finished saying goodbye to Stranger Things and she can open a new chapter in her acting life.
