Nicolas Cage could be the new True Detective!

We already salivate it! What if the coolest actor of his generation carried out the investigation in season 5?

We had Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Mahershala Ali or Jodie Foster before him. And True Detective could hang a new prestigious name to his hunting board.

Nicolas Cage is in advanced negotiations to play the main role of season 5 currently in preparation at HBO.

The details of this new investigation remain confidential, but we already know that it will take place on the side of in New York and more exactly in the Jamaica bay district, located southeast of the Megapole, straddling the boroklyn and Queens districts.

For the time being, no official comments have come to confirm all of this.

But we know that the Oscar -winning actor is ready to turn to television now. He is already filming his first big role on the small screen, playing Spider-Man Noir in a live-action series produced by MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video, expected for 2026.

By taking the head of True Detective, he would almost ensure nominations at the Emmys and the Golden Globes. Jodie Foster left from True Detective: Night Country with the two statuettes under the arm.

Renewed in February 2024 after the success of this season 4 in Alaska, the series will see Issa López come back to writing and realization. No date for this season 5 yet.
