Orlando Bloom’s boxing film will be released in France in streaming: trailer
Paramount + will broadcast The Final Round next December.
After its presentation at the Toronto festival at the start of the school year and a small (very) limited release in American cinemas, Orlando Bloom’s boxing film will not be shown in theaters here.
The Paramount + platform will broadcast in France The Ultimate Round (The Cut in original version) streaming on December 12.
The synopsis states: “Years after his last fight in the ring, a traveling boxer is unexpectedly offered one last chance to win the title. Hoping to regain his former glory, he must go to extreme lengths to lose a lot of weight in a dangerously short time. The film follows the boxer as he prepares for the fight, a grueling and intense training. This pressure risks making him lose his footing and distance him from reality. Under the guidance of his partner and trainer Caitlin, he realizes that he will not succeed. In desperation, he gets drawn into the risky, dark and desperate methods of Boz, a shadow specialist. In a sport that has eaten him alive, he is willing to sacrifice everything to win or die trying.”
In the images revealed, Orlando Bloom plays a worn-out boxer, haunted by his past fall, who attempts a comeback as brutal as it is desperate. To get back to the top, he places himself under the control of a ruthless trainer…
John Turturro will play the dubious coach, while Caitríona Balfe (Outlander) will be his worried wife.
Directed by Sean Ellis (Anthropoid, Metro Manila), The Final Round is written by Justin Bull, based on a story by Mark Lane.
