Oscar Isaac will be Martin Scorsese’s ‘gambling mogul’ in new Las Vegas series
The actor will play the leading role in this creation for Netflix, which will immerse us in contemporary Las Vegas.
Currently starring in the series Beef on Netflix, Oscar Isaac continues to have a string of prestigious TV projects: the actor will play the lead in a new Netflix series on the world of Las Vegas casinos, produced by Martin Scorsese.
Please note, this will not be a remake, a sequel or an adaptation of his legendary Casino from 1995, with Robert de Niro. The Dune and Star Wars actor, who also played Moon Knight for Marvel on Disney+, will play Bobby Red, gambling tycoon, in a story that will delve into contemporary Las Vegas, described as a modernized but still dangerous version of the mythical city. At the center of the story: Robert “Bobby Red” Redman, president of the city’s most prominent casino-hotel, forced to take ever greater risks to maintain his power and expand his empire.
Still without an official title, the series is being developed for Netflix by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, the duo behind Billions. The two men will serve as showrunners and screenwriters, while Martin Scorsese will participate as executive producer.
No other cast names have yet been revealed.
The series will also bring together several prestigious executive producers, including JC Chandor, who will direct the first two episodes. A logical choice, since he had already directed Isaac in A Most Violent Year and Triple Frontier.
At the same time, Oscar Isaac will soon appear in a Netflix film, In the Hand of Dante, the new feature by Julian Schnabel, alongside Gal Gadot and Al Pacino. A film in which Martin Scorsese plays a small role… that of Dante’s mentor, played by Oscar Isaac!
No release date has yet been announced for this future Las Vegas series.
