Ozark creator returns with new crime thriller for Paramount+
A dive into the depths of Miami called MIA
He returns to where he excels.
After having signed the films Mr Wolff with Ben Affleck and especially the cult series Ozark, for Netflix, Bill Dubuque returns to television with a new creation entitled MIA
The series will be available in France from May 7 on Paramount+, with a first preview already revealed (see below).
Consisting of 9 episodes, MIA follows Etta Tiger Jonze, played by Shannon Gisela, “a young woman in search of elsewhere, suffocating in the Florida Keys and dreaming of the glittering, subtropical life of Miami. But when her family’s drug dealing turns tragic, Etta embarks on a dangerous trajectory through the neon-lit underbelly of the city. A descent that will shape who she is and reveal how far she is willing to go go.”
MIA is created, written and produced by Bill Dubuque. Karen Campbell (Outlander, Dexter, Raised by Wolves) serves as showrunner and executive producer.
The first two episodes were directed by Alethea Jones, while several directors followed, including Gwyneth Horder-Payton, Mairzee Almas, Ben Semanoff and John Dahl.
