Percy Jackson returns in impressive trailer for Disney Plus series

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series will be released during the holidays on the platform.

Logan Lerman leaves his place. Ten years after the films Percy Jackson and a film franchise that never really took off, Disney is trying to relaunch the mythological machine for Disney Plus, carried by the very young Walker Scobellrevealed in the Netflix film The Adam Project.

He will be the young demi-God hero of Percy Jackson and the Olympiansnext to Aryan Simhadri (aka Grover Underwood) and Leah Sava Jeffries (who will take over the role of Annabeth Chase).

The trailer which has just been posted online shows that the series is not going to revolutionize Rick Riordan’s novels. We will see Percy learn from his mother the truth about his father. He will then leave for this famous camp reserved for other earthly children designed by the Gods of Olympus. And then we will ask him to go on a quest to recover Zeus’ thunderbolt, in order to avoid a Biblical War.

Among the Gods, the video reveals Lin-Manuel Miranda in the shoes of the mischievous Hermès. Toby Stephens will be the powerful Poseidon, father of Percy. Jason Mantzoukas will play Dionysus and Jay Duplass will be Hades, while the late Lance Reddick of the saga John Wickwho has since died, plays Zeus.

The first two episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be available from December 20 on Disney+ then the others will be broadcast weekly.
