Natalie Portman Imprints With Julianne Moore in May December (Trailer)
Todd Haynes’ thriller, noticed at the Cannes Film Festival, is revealed.
Todd Haynesdirector of Carol (2015) and Dark Waters (2019), summons a brilliant cast into a disturbing thriller, May December.
In order to prepare for her future role, Elizabeth (Natalie Portman) will visit Gracie’s environment (Julianne Moore), a former baker who made the front page of the tabloids because of her affair with Joe (Charles Melton), 13 years old at the time. Elizabeth interprets the character as a challenge: you have to understand the unthinkable to be able to bring it to life on screen. In fact, the actress will stick to this home where trouble sadly hovers. Joe, now in his thirties, has only vague memories of his early relationship with Gracie – today, the young man must assume a lifestyle imposed by influence.
By trying to unravel the mysteries, Elizabeth will (in)directly stir up a sordid disorder that reigns within this couple, always singled out by certain residents.
Presented at Cannes Film Festival 2023, May December features an infernal trio composed of Natalie Portman who uses his charisma to get into the skin of the manipulative character of Julianne Moore – in love with Charles Meltonknown for his role in Riverdale.
It is under the notes of the legendary music of Michael Legrandcomposed for The messenger (1971) – also famous for its presence in the credits of Let the accused enter – that the web is woven between these three characters consumed by the discomfort of their questions.
May December will be released on January 24, 2024 in theaters.
