Russo Brothers Won’t Ditch Citadel for Avengers 5

At Amazon, we are confident: the duo will continue their mission on the big-budget series.

Are they going to drop everything and go back to Marvel? Since Avengers: EndgameTHE Russo brothers have not been idle. They have notably launched into the spy thriller, with The Gray Manfor Netflix, then producing and directing the series Citadelfor Prime Video. But will they still have time, if they do Avengers 5 And Avengers 6 for Marvel Studios?

Because it must be remembered that the franchise Citadel is planned for the very long term by Amazon. So the boss of Amazon MGM Studios Jennifer Salke and her colleague Vernon Sanders assure, in an interview with Variety, that the Russian are not going to leave the ship overnight:

“They are definitely involved in the second season of Citadel ! Both in directing and producing, and we’re moving forward and we’re very excited. It’s in the works right now.” Salke and Sanders detail. “We will make announcements in the not too distant future regarding this season 2 of Citadelwhich is about to go into production soon, including the casting coming to this franchise…”

Except Marvel intends to film Avengers 5 in 2025, in order to keep the film’s release date set for May 1, 2026. Suffice to say that the schedule is looking tight for the Russianwho may have difficulty combining Marvel and Citadel…What will they decide, if the MCU calls them back?
