Shrek 5 is coming to town: check out the first trailer
Shrek, Fiona, Donkey… and their children are back! Universal has revealed the first images of Shrek 5, expected in theaters in a year.
More than 25 years after the first film, cinema’s most famous ogre continues to make us laugh.
This first trailer for Shrek 5 marks the return of the historic voices of the saga (in original version): Mike Myers for Shrek, Eddie Murphy for Donkey and Cameron Diaz for Fiona. The big news in this fifth opus is the arrival of the couple’s children. Zendaya lends her voice to Felicia, while Fergus and Farkle are played by Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo.
The trailer begins with a look back at the events of the first Shrekbefore Donkey decides it’s time to modernize the story. The opportunity to discover a slightly reworked animation style for this new adventure, which will obviously take us to the sordid streets of a big city, like 19th century London. There is notably a snowman who parodies Olaf from The Snow Queen… The images end with an embarrassing situation to say the least: Shrek, Fiona, their children and Donkey all find themselves behind bars. While the Donkey sings Baby Come Back Then Roxannemuch to Shrek’s despair. In short, nothing has fundamentally changed.
Shrek 5 will be released in cinemas on June 30, 2027.
