Mystery trailer for the elected official, Oz Perkins’s new horror film

The director of Longlegs returns with a strange feature film on “The worst side of masculinity.”.

After having hit the start at the start of the year by adapting Stephen King With The Monkey ($ 70 million in world box office revenue), Osgood Perkins returns with The elected (Keeper in VO).

The director, who had filmed Nicolas Cage in Longlegs (2023), this time will direct the talented Tatiana Maslary (Orphan Black,, She-Hulk) and Rossif Sutherland (Esther 2).

The official pitch evokes “A couple who escapes for a weekend in an isolated hut. But Malcolm suddenly returns to town, leaving Liz alone…”.

The real intrigue remains however mysterious, and the recently trailer which has just been put online is very enigmatic: it presents above all a gallery of female faces, of young women with intense gaze, which seem intended to switch to horror.

“This film is the worst side of masculinity. It is a look at disgusting masculinity. We call it patriarchy, misogyny, toxic masculinity, whatever … it’s a representation of our worst me as men”explains Oz Perkins in a recent interview.

The elected will be released in the cinema in France on December 10.
